Denver Health is seeking a mission-driven Medical Assistant (MA) - Psych School Base to join the School Based Medical Services team. The MA will support coordination of primary health services, manage records, and assist providers with patient care, immunizations, and lab testing.

Responsibilities include vital signs, patient rooming, referrals, and ensuring regulatory readiness such as Joint Commission requirements within an Epic-based workflow.

Qualifications

• Completion of a clinical Medical Assistant training program resulting in a diploma or CCMA, or a registered apprentice program certificate.
• Accredited program of Licensed Practical Nursing with an active LPN license Required
• 6 months direct patient care experience in an outpatient setting Required
• One year of experience working in school-age student services, preferred
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross) Required
• 160 hour externship completed or equivalent required

Responsabilités

• Take vital signs and collect basic patient history; communicate changes to provider.
• Coordinate clerical information and referrals to support patient care.
• Assist with procedures; administer medications and immunizations as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing; document results in the EHR.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies; ensure sterile techniques.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure Joint Commission readiness.
• Protect patient confidentiality and assist with test follow-up.
