Job summary

The Hawaii Keiki Dental Hygienist position in Maui supports the Program Manager and Dentist in delivering preventive dental health services to keiki in the school complex area. The role includes implementing the sealant program and providing oral health screenings with a portable setup.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, delivering fluoride varnish and sealants, and educating students and staff to foster healthy oral health practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in dental hygiene is required.
• Current unrestricted Hawaii dental hygiene license.
• BLS/CPR certification is required.
• 1 year of experience in community-based oral health settings, school dental hygiene, or pediatric dental hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Conduct oral health assessments as required.
• Implement Hawaii Keiki Sealant program for children at selected elementary schools within a Complex Area.
• Provide preventative services including fluoride varnish and dental sealants to children in schools with a portable setup under supervision.
• Provide oral health education and information to students and staff to promote oral health.
• Collaborate with Hawaii Keiki nurses and Core Dental Sealant team to ensure quality preventive services.
