Job summary

University Health Partners of Hawai'i is seeking a dentist to provide limited safe dental screening and preventative care for children within a mobile, school-based program in Kona and surrounding Hawaii areas. The role includes supervising dental hygienists and students, ordering sealants after exams, and ensuring adherence to Hawaii Keiki program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current Hawaii State Dental license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience in the professional practice of General Dentistry.
• Experience working with mobile dental clinic equipment.
• Experience consulting in the health care community in Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and edits to the dental sealant policy and procedure manual.
• Assist with and make recommendation for equipment required for dental sealant program.
• Provide supervision to dental hygienists during scheduled dental sealant days in Hawaii schools.
• Perform dental assessment of students with signed consents for screenings and sealants.
• Diagnose urgent dental problems requiring dental referral.
• Order dental sealants for eligible students after examination.
• Oversee sealant application technique to ensure quality control.
• Monitor billing for limited examination and sealant services.
• Review and sign data collected at each school site.
• Report to Senior Practice Director any concerns or suggestions for improvement.
• Communicate scheduling requests for sealant days with Hawaii Keiki Administration.
• Comply with all legal requirements and company policies.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
