Job summary

Seneca Family of Agencies in Hayward, CA is hiring a Classroom Counselor to guide students with emotional and behavioral challenges toward success in their general education classrooms. You will provide individualized attention and direct instruction in core areas, supporting academic growth and social-emotional well-being.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
Applicable experience with youth, families, classrooms, or crisis support.
Ability to meet state licensing or certification requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a transdisciplinary team including teachers and counselors.
Build therapeutic relationships to help students reach goals.
Support academic instruction with individual and group activities.
Implement classroom modifications based on IEPs and related plans.
Deliver direct behavioral interventions to promote positive learning behaviors.
Complete data collection and documentation for service effectiveness and billing.
Communicate with families and other Seneca programs or external agencies.
Apply crisis de-escalation techniques per training.
