Job summary

Seneca’s Maya Angelou Academy in Oakland, CA is hiring a Classroom Counselor to guide students with emotional and behavioral challenges, promoting academic growth and social-emotional well-being. You will provide direct instruction and supportive interventions within a transdisciplinary team, aligned to IEP goals and school standards.

The position offers a full-time schedule, with work hours 8 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be at least 21 years old and meet licensing/clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a transdisciplinary team including teachers and counselors.

Education

Bachelor’s degree OR Associate degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable experience OR High School Diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable experience

At least 21 years of age

California Driver's License (if required)

TB test clearance and fingerprinting
