Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support early learners in a school-based setting near Lees Summit, MO. This full-time contract role focuses on collaboration within an educational team to foster growth and development for children on an early childhood caseload.

The ideal candidate holds an active COTA certification and has experience in a school or pediatric setting, with strong IEP documentation skills and a commitment to teamwork with parents and school

Qualifications

• Active COTA certification is required.
• Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.
• Understanding of IEP processes and documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with young children, parents, and fellow staff members.
• Organizational skills to manage caseload and meet deadlines effectively.
• Adaptability, creativity, and a commitment to fostering student independence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational therapy services to early childhood students as part of their educational teams.
• Conduct assessments and participate in goal-setting for IEPs.
• Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and special education professionals.
• Implement treatment plans that support fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills development.
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records in support of educational goals.
• Participate in team meetings and provide input on therapy accommodations and strategies.
• Engage with families to provide resources and support for student success outside the classroom.
