Job summary

LEARN seeks a motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in LEARN magnets and district contracts. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, administer screenings and interventions, and help develop IEPs to promote access and engagement in learning.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, student dignity, and equity, with opportunities for mentorship and professional growth in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Certification required for COTA role.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of developmental milestones and evidence-based assessments.
• Understanding of students with complex needs.
• Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Follow therapy plans and document progress accurately.
• Commitment to dignity, inclusion, confidentiality and safety.
• Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting and positioning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create comprehensive student programming.
• Administer screenings, assessments and direct interventions with students.
• Collaboratively develop IEPs to support students to access and engage in learning and school environments.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress through ongoing data collection, analysis and review meetings
