Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments of at-risk students and families.
  • Provide direct clinical services to students and families.

  • Complete reports in a timely manner.

  • Consult with teachers and staff.
  • Participate in CSE meetings.

Job description

This School Based position will be located at Pine Plains CSD and will be responsible for the delivery of outpatient clinical services to assigned clients in accordance with current ethical and professional standards and in keeping with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for school based services such as assessment, clinical intervention, consultation and education to school professionals, and advocacy and referral to needed services for children deemed as at-risk. The work schedule mirrors the Department of Education with school recess vacations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct an initial assessment of students and their families identified as at risk by school personnel.
  • Provide direct clinical service to students and their families.
  • Refer to outside community agencies when appropriate.
  • Link students to relevant school programs or personnel.
  • Completes quarterly and annual reports in a timely manner.
  • Act as an advocate for students.
  • Conduct training seminars with school personnel relative to at-risk students.
  • Consult with teachers and school personnel.
  • Participate in CSE meetings as necessary.
  • Attend meetings and conferences mutually agreed upon by Astor staff and school administration.
  • Be available to new students and their families during the adjustment and transition to new school and community.
  • Participate in child study meetings, attendance committee, retention/promotion meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate CSE students to determine counseling needs.
  • Participate in staff development and training programs within the agency.
