The Child Center of NY is seeking a School-Based Clinical-Coordinator to lead a site-based team delivering mental health services, attendance support, and academic progress for students.

The SBCC conducts intakes, individual, group and family therapy, collaborates with school staff and CBOs, ensures compliant documentation, and supervises direct-service staff while implementing evidence-based treatments such as TF-CBT.

Qualifications

  • LMSW or LCSW certification required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multi-task.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Experience with trauma work and evidence-based treatments preferred.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; strong relationships across diverse groups.

Responsibilities

  • Manage outcome data collection and related billing materials.

  • Supervise direct-service staff.
  • Provide training and collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families.
  • Deliver trauma-focused evidence-based treatments such as TF-CBT.
  • Collaborate with school staff on referrals, monitoring, events, and crises.
  • Complete documentation and quarterly treatment plans per OMH regulations.
  • Oversee overall direction and evaluation of the direct-service team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The School-Based Clinical-Coordinator (SBCC) is responsible for leading a site-based team of direct-service professionals dedicated to the mental wellness, school attendance, and academic progress of students. The SBCC will also provide individual and group therapeutic counseling and help link students and families to other necessary services impacting their success. The SBCC collaborates with school administration and Community Based Organizations (CBO) that run Community Schools to review efforts, discuss challenges, and implement effective strategies to improve student outcomes. The SB Clinical Coordinator assigns work, develops, and communicates expected productivity levels to staff. Report to Program Director, Senior PD, or Associate Vice President.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage outcome data and ensure that systems are efficiently collecting relevant data, billing material, etc.
  • Conduct intakes; and individual, group and family therapy.
  • Supervise direct-service staff such as Youth Advocates, College Career Advisors, etc.
  • Provide training, support, and collaborative work with teachers, counselors and families as assigned.
  • Deliver evidenced-based treatment such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT).
  • Consistently collaborate with school staff and faculty on referrals, progress monitoring, events, and crises.
  • Complete and review documentation, progress notes and quarterly treatment plans concurrently with clients and in accordance with OMH regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the direct-service team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing; hiring; planning; assigning; and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; performance reviews; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • LMSW/LCSW certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multi-task.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) Preferred.
Qualifications Preferred:
  • SIFI certification or acquiring certification.
  • Comfort and knowledge of trauma work, evidence-based treatments and youth development.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record System
  • Excellent communication skills, especially writing. Adept at developing and maintaining strong working relationships across diverse groups.
