Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Behavioral Technician to assist in developing responses for students requiring behavior intervention. The role involves data collection, program development, and support for classroom staff at Pine Ridge Education Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The position requires the ability to implement behavior plans, participate in trainings, and ensure safety and dignity for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience with behaviorally complex children.
• An earned associate degree or 60-degree credits with two (2) years of experience is acceptable.
• Must have physical stamina to work with behaviorally complex students and implement behavior management strategies.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Collect data within the school environment.
• Assist in data-gathering for Functional Behavior Assessments.
• Assist in development and implementation of behavioral programs and plans.
• Assist staff in techniques to implement behavioral systems.
• Assist in teaching appropriate behavior to students.
• Be available as needed by school staff.
• Support in material preparation and clerical tasks.
• Monitor and supervise assigned students in need of intervention.
• Adhere to school policies and safety rules.
• Participate in training programs to enhance job responsibilities.
