Job summary

The Center for Youth in Rochester is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist to support students, families and school staff within the classroom setting. The role emphasizes restorative approaches, crisis de-escalation, and data-driven program evaluation.

Responsibilities include coordinating services with administrators, attending meetings, and delivering prevention education while maintaining strong community partnerships and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years’ related experience; Master’s preferred.
• Experience in youth services or school-based programs is a plus.
• Strong crisis management and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Administers, coordinates and oversees program (on-site).
• Works with School Administrators to align services with identified needs.
• Attend School Support Service meetings and deliver restorative-based systems.
• Create and supervise data collection and program evaluation processes.
• Provide monthly reports to the Director of School Based Programs.
• Coordinate Prevention Education services and outreach.
• Refer and support students, with immediate crisis response.
• Develop asset-building activities and transitions post-suspension.
