Job summary

Northern Valley Indian Health in Woodland, CA is seeking a full-time School-Based Behavioral Health Therapist (LCSW/LMFT/AMFT/ASW) to provide direct mental health therapy and case management for students and families on campus.

The role requires a Masters degree with licensure or registration in Behavioral Sciences and 2+ years of school-based therapy or related experience, with crisis counseling skills and an ability to work with diverse populations.

Qualifications

• Must hold current license or registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, ACSW, APCC, AMFT)
• Two years school-based therapy or case management experience desired.
• Experience with crisis counseling and working with children and families in a community setting desired.
• Demonstrates ability to work with diverse populations (experience with Native Americans is desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide behavioral health support within a multi-tiered intervention framework and engage in prevention and intervention activities.
• Establish relationships with students and families to encourage effective use of the therapy process.
• Employ culturally competent, trauma-informed, best practices during psychotherapy.
• Demonstrate effective liaison relationships with parents, school and agencies to coordinate care.
• Collaborates with school team including case consultation and advice concerning student status, diagnosis, and treatment and attends various school-site meetings.
• Conduct initial assessment and administer required standardized screening tools.
