Job summary

Nexus Family Healing is seeking a Behavior Specialist for our on-campus New Dominion School. This role delivers academic therapeutic crisis intervention within the school to promote positive outcomes and brighter futures.

It requires maintaining transitions, enforcing conduct standards, and collaborating on IEP behavior goals. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with at least two years in relevant settings, and be willing to pass a MN background check and Handle with Care

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years in school/day treatment/residential setting focusing on behavior.
• Ability to build relationships across diverse individuals and communities.
• Must pass MN criminal background check and Handle with Care training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain orderly student transitions during arrivals, classes, lunch, and departures.
• Enforce student rules on conduct, appearance, hygiene, and behavior goals.
• Contribute to IEP behavior goals with teachers and parents.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of students and families.
• Demonstrate professional, respectful communication with students, families and staff.
• Engage in crisis interventions and de-escalation as needed.
