Qualifications

• Successful experience working directly with children with autism in home, school, or clinical settings.
• Familiar with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) preferred.
• Must be willing to obtain ABA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based on ABA.
• Assist in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment
• Performs specialized work by assisting teachers in instructing and directing student activities
• Communicate regularly with certified teachers, parents and administration
• Remain knowledgeable about individual student needs and success plans
• Work with students needing academic or behavior interventions
• Work in small groups on classroom activities under supervision of the teacher
• Participate in staff development and training to learn and update skills related to the position
• Assist administration and staff with various administrative / clerical functions as requested

Education

Associate's degree
