Job summary

Ro Health is hiring a Behavior Support Assistant (BCA) for Hempstead Union Free School District for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves providing behavioral and educational support in-person, with 1:1 or classroom-based assignments to assist students from pre-K through high school.

Candidates should have childcare or ABA experience, be instructionally eligible, and ideally hold an Associate’s degree or higher.

Qualifications

• Instructionally eligible at minimum.
• Experience in childcare and/or ABA.
• Associate's degree preferred; high school or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred.
• Strong assessment skills.
• Passion for supporting students in the learning process.
• Inclination to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Providing support either in a 1:1 or general capacity.
• Calm, clear, and concise communication with both children and adults.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
• Potential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds).
