Job summary

Horry County Schools seeks a Medically Fragile One-on-One Nurse to provide specialized 1:1 health-related services for chronically ill and medically fragile students under the supervision of the school RN. The role requires a valid SC nursing license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, CPR certification, and a current driver’s license; prior school or pediatric nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Nurse by the SC Board of Nursing.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• A minimum three years of experience in related settings preferred (school nursing, public health nursing, ER, or pediatrics).
• Current driver’s license.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces health promoting behaviors using approved protocols.
• Performs procedures and treatments under RN supervision, including catheterization, suctioning, tracheotomy care, and tube feedings.
• Provides nursing care as defined in the IHP or assigned by the RN.
• Assists in maintaining medically fragile students while at school.
• Administers first aid, medications, and treatments as prescribed by a physician or health provider.
