Job summary

Caliday School Age Teachers support the Program Director in before- and after-care operations for school-age children, implementing engaging activities to uphold Caliday's mission and values in a safe learning environment.

They provide support and direction to teacher assistants, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for families while maintaining regulatory compliance and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

• AA or bachelor’s degree (or credit equivalent) in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or a similar discipline.
• CPR and First Aid training, Basic Health and Safety training, ADA training certificates.
• 400 hours of experience with School Age children in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company standards.
• Provides a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors.
• Implements age-appropriate activities aligned with Caliday curriculum and effective classroom management.
• Counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicates with parents and school community; provides regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintains classroom appearance, cleanliness, and safety.
• Identifies opportunities or problems and works with the team to resolve them.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

Education
