Job summary

Caliday is seeking a dedicated Teacher's Aide for our before/after school program. You will assist in implementing age-appropriate activities, support with supervision, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment for school-age children.

Work closely with the Program Director and School Age Teacher to uphold Caliday's mission and values, maintain program space, and communicate effectively with families and staff while promoting Conscious Discipline and positive behavior guidance.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will have some experience in the childcare field.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the management of the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Assists with the implementation of activities that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open and effective communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and/or Program Director to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
