Job summary

Caliday School Age Teachers assist the Program Director in before and after care operations for school age children, implementing activities to uphold the Caliday mission and ensuring a safe, learning-focused environment. You will support and guide teacher assistants.

Responsibilities include managing the space, engaging children with age-appropriate activities, and maintaining safety and cleanliness while communicating with parents and staff to provide ongoing updates.

Qualifications

• Candidates should hold an AA or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or the listed clock-hour credentials.
• CPR/First Aid, basic health and safety, and ADA training certificates are required.
• Experience: 400 hours working with school-age children in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the program space in compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company policies.
• Create a welcoming, safe environment for children, parents, and visitors.
• Implement age-appropriate activities aligned with Caliday curriculum and ensure effective classroom management.
• Supervise and counsel children using Conscious Discipline and behavior management techniques.
• Maintain open communication with parents and staff and provide regular updates on program happenings.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the classroom at all times.
• Identify opportunities or problems and collaborate to resolve them.
• Maintain yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
