Job summary

Caliday School Age Program is seeking a dedicated teacher to assist the Program Director in before- and after-school care for school-age children. You will implement engaging activities, ensure a safe learning environment, and support staff to uphold Caliday’s mission and values.

The role emphasizes effective communication with parents and a collaborative team approach to create enriching experiences for children and families.

Qualifications

• AA or BA in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or related field, or equivalent
• 400 hours experience with school-age children in a professional setting
• 45 clock hours Child Development; 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age Care

Responsibilities

• Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and company policies.
• Provides a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors.
• Implements age-appropriate activities aligned with Caliday curriculum; maintains effective classroom management.
• Assists and supervises children during activities; uses Conscious Discipline and behavior management techniques.
• Communicates with parents, greeting by name and providing updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures classroom appearance, cleanliness and safety.
• Identifies opportunities or problems and works with team to resolve them.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
