The Learning Experience in Gaithersburg, MD is hiring a caring School Age Teacher to support our before- and after-school childcare program. You’ll create a fun, structured environment where elementary students stay engaged, complete schoolwork, and enjoy meaningful activities after the regular school day.

The role requires Maryland School-Age Teacher qualifications, with strong communication, organization, and classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios.

• Follow Maryland childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.

School Age Teacher - Before & After School Childcare

Location: The Learning Experience - Gaithersburg, MD

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Schedule: Monday-Friday | Hours based on program needs

We're looking for someone who can create a fun, structured environment where children can build friendships, develop independence, complete schoolwork, and enjoy meaningful activities outside the regular school day. Candidates must meet Maryland's School-Age Teacher qualification requirements.

• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills


• Patient, dependable, energetic, and comfortable leading group activities


• Must meet applicable Maryland Office of Child Care licensing requirements
