The Learning Experience in Gaithersburg, MD is hiring a caring School Age Teacher to support our before- and after-school childcare program. You’ll create a fun, structured environment where elementary students stay engaged, complete schoolwork, and enjoy meaningful activities after the regular school day.

The role requires Maryland School-Age Teacher qualifications, with strong communication, organization, and classroom management.

Qualifications

• Maryland School-Age Teacher qualifications required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in before- and after-school programs is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging, age-appropriate activities for elementary school-aged children.
• Plan arts and crafts, games, STEM activities, and hands-on learning experiences.
• Support homework time, reading, and independent learning.
• Encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and positive social interactions.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized classroom.
• Establish consistent routines and use positive behavior guidance.
• Supervise indoor and outdoor activities while maintaining required staff-to-child ratios.
