Job summary

Old Colony Y in Kingston, MA is seeking a Senior Group Leader to help plan and supervise a School Age licensed program. You will ensure child safety while delivering engaging activities, physical challenges, and educational experiences.

The role requires CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, along with a background in working with school-age children. Weekend availability and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs may be required at times.

Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator, the Senior Group Leader is responsible for assisting with programming and supervision of the School Age licensed program. The Senior Group Leader will help plan and implement a program of activities which will ensure each child’s personal safety while providing entertainment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. S/He will uphold the employee code of conduct and will ensure that all areas of the job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y, and the regulating agency. The Senior Group Leader will display and encourage the character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the fulfillment of all job duties as well as perform the following job functions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• S. or B.A. with 9 months experience with school age children, or High School diploma or equivalent and one year working with school age.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.

• Will sometimes work early morning, late nights and weekends.

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs on occasion and 40lbs frequently (children) and move intermittently during work hours.
• Ability to thoroughly understand Y-USA's three focus areas: Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility; proven ability to identify and meet the needs of the health seeker

Pay Range

The estimated pay range for this job. Disclosing pay information promotes competitive and equitable pay. The actual pay rate will depend on the person's qualifications and experience.

$18.00 - $20.70 / hour
