Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Columbia Middle School Taylor Campus in Columbia, PA. The role is part-time and follows the school calendar, with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

Pay is $16.00 per hour, and the position emphasizes safe, engaging activities, positive role modeling, and collaboration with families and school staff for the 2026–2027 year.

Qualifications

• Education options include a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in relevant fields or CDA credentials plus experience.
• Candidates must pass a full background check and be medically fit for the role.
• Experience working with school-age children in after-school settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities from the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academics, art, and homework.
• Provide a safe, healthy environment and be a positive role model for children.
• Observe school policies and program guidelines; assist with attendance and staffing.
• Support operations and activities planning to ensure program success.

Morning Program: 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM

Afternoon Program: 2:45 PM-6:00 PM

Position Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Candidate must possess one of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
• Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience includes: working with school-age children in after‑school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social‑emotional and academic growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
