Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Lead for our Before and After School Program at Penn-Bernville Elementary School in Bernville, PA. This part-time role offers early-morning and/or late-afternoon shifts working with students aged 5–12.

You’ll lead activities, ensure safety, and support student growth in a mission-driven team. Employer-paid childcare and other benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass full background check including fingerprinting.
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties including a clear TB.
• Ability to relate well with children and families in a school-age setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for teamwork and parent interaction.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities aligned with the Healthy Kids Curriculum.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and engaging environment and model positive behavior.
• Observe state and program policies and maintain attendance/registration records as needed.
• Assist with staffing responsibilities and program operations.

PAY: $16.00 per hour

SCHEDULE

Morning Program: 7:00 AM - 8:35 AM

Afternoon Program: 3:20 PM-6:30 PM

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Position Responsibilities

The Before and After School Program team is responsible for:

• Facilitating hands‑on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Candidate must possess one of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field
• Bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials plus 2 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience includes:

working with school‑age children in after‑school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social‑emotional and academic growth.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
