Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a School-Aage Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Pittsburgh Manchester Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. The position follows the school calendar with opportunities for morning and/or afternoon shifts.

The role is part-time and non-exempt, with pay ranging from $13.50 to $14.50 per hour. Benefits include employer-paid childcare, telehealth, dental and vision, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13.
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks.
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
