Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Columbia Middle School Taylor Campus for the 2026–2027 school year.

The role follows the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon shifts. Employer-paid childcare benefits help families, and there are opportunities for professional growth while supporting student development and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience working with children under 13.
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks.
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties including a clear TB.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

LOCATION: Columbia Middle School Taylor Campus in Columbia, PA

PAY: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM

Afternoon Program: 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs

JOB STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
