Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a School-Age Childcare Assistant for the Before and After School Program at Columbia Middle School Taylor Campus in Columbia, PA, for the 2026–2027 school year. The role is part-time and non-exempt, with morning and afternoon shifts following the school calendar.

Employer-paid childcare and additional benefits support employees, including telehealth, vision, dental coverage, and participation in 401(k) plans where eligible.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with children under 13 is required.
• Must pass full background checks including fingerprinting.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and engaging environment and model positive behavior.
• Observe state guidelines and host school policies; assist with attendance and staffing as needed.

Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM

Afternoon Program: 2:45 PM - 6:00 PM

Position Responsibilities

The Before and After School Program team is responsible for:

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years of experience working with children under 13
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
