Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Columbia Middle School Taylor Campus in Columbia, PA for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar with morning and/or afternoon shifts.

You will run activities from our curriculum, supervise children ages 5–12, and support a safe, engaging environment and basic homework.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working with children under 13
• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
• Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB
• Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
