Job summary

Stepping Stones Childrenriends Center, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic School Age Assistant Teacher/Assistant Group Supervisor for a M-F schedule. The role supports teachers and group supervisors, creating a caring, safe environment for children from Kindergarten to 6th grade.

The position offers a $16.00/hour starting pay with a $500 signing bonus after 90 days and a $500 bonus after 6 months, plus full-time non-exempt status. CPS/First Aid certification and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years (2,500 hours) of professional experience working/volunteering with children.
• Willingness to complete a CDA, SAC or credit equivalent course work.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by the children.
• Actively engage in activities inside and outside.
• Manage cleanliness, and order of classroom and classroom materials.
• Communicate effectively with children to ensure safety, relationships, and guidance.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Follow all Stepping Stones policies as well as DHS regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisor.
