Job summary

Stepping Stones Children's Center in Gibsonia, PA is seeking an Assistant Group Supervisor for part-time morning or afternoon shifts. You will support Teachers and Group Supervisors to create a caring, safe environment and help with activities and parent communication.

The role requires a High School diploma and 2,500 hours of childcare experience; CPR and First Aid certification are preferred. The position runs M-F; 7:00am-10:00am or 2:00pm-6:00pm, with a $500 signing bonus after 90 days and

Pay range starts at $16.00 per hour.

General Position Description

The Assistant Group Supervisor supports the Teachers and/or the Group Supervisors by helping to create a caring and safe school environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen, and work well with others in a team environment and develop positive relationships with the children and their parents. Assistants are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and/or the Group Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years (2,500 hours) of professional experience in childcare or working/volunteering with children.
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.
• An understanding of child development.
• Ability to interact with children on different levels including the floor, lift/carry children and supplies, and move around the center while supervising children.
• Flexibility with classroom (Infant, Toddler, and Preschool) and hour assignments.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must pass a full background check, drug screening test, and health screening.

About Stepping Stones Children's Center

Stepping Stones is a non-profit childcare center based north of Pittsburgh in Gibsonia, PA with multiple program offerings, including: (i) full-day childcare at our Main Center location in Gibsonia for infants through Pre-K, (ii) before and after-school care programs for elementary school students in two local school districts (care is provided on school property), (iii) extended day program for half-day kindergarten students in two local school districts, and (iv) full-day summer camp.
