Job summary

Bibb County School District in Macon, Georgia is seeking an organized individual for the Student Activity Accounts Coordinator position. You will oversee vendor payments, maintain school activity accounts, and provide financial reporting and reconciliation support to ensure accurate handling of funds.

The role requires an associate degree in accounting or related field and at least three years of accounting experience, preferably in governmental or school settings with KEV/SFO and Munis

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve vendor purchases and payments for school activity accounts.
• Respond to inquiries from schools about activity accounts.
• Maintain daily balance reports in Excel and track banking in Excel and SFO.
• Investigate invoice discrepancies and take corrective action.
• Issue petty cash checks at start of each school year and verify end-of-year procedures.
• Conduct internal cash handling audits.
• Provide training for principals and bookkeepers.
• Monitor and prevent negative balances.
• Assist in maintaining Cash Handling Procedures Manual.
• Maintain student payment system.
• Perform annual inventory of payment and check scanning devices.
• Back-up in extended absence of school bookkeepers.
• Provide reconciliation support between student payment system, Munis, and bank.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
