Job summary

Student Transportation Of America is hiring a part-time School Activities & Events Driver to transport students to and from sporting events and field trips. CDL required with School Bus endorsement; training may be provided.

On-site position with a dedicated local management team and safety protocols. You will operate school buses on fixed routes, perform daily vehicle inspections, and ensure safe, friendly service for students.

Qualifications

Come join our team! As a Charter Driver for SchoolWheels Direct, you will be assigned to transport children to and from Sporting Events/ Field trips as needed. These folks will operate school buses for district Sports Runs with the possibility, if agreed, to work other driving duties as mutually agreed to. You will have the support of a dedicated, local management team and the training needed to perform your job safely, and with care. Charter Drivers are responsible for the safe delivery of students to and from school along set routes, adherence to school bus safety and bus stop safety standards, and daily vehicle inspections, among other duties.

Reports To: Terminal Manager

Job Type: Part-time hours vary.

Responsibilities:

• Transport clients to various locations.
• Ensuring safe transportation of all passengers on the bus.

• Maintain compliance with all Student Transportation of America/ School Wheels Direct safety operating procedures.
• Maintain professionalism at all times.

Requirements:

• Must be over the age of 21.
• Must have CDL Class B or A with School Bus, Air Brake, and Passenger endorsement.- Will consider candidates willing to go through a paid Training program that possess a valid driver license.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years verifiable driving history.
• Must be professional and punctual.
• No more than 2 moving violations and 1 preventable accident in the past 3 years
• Ability to adhere to all company safety standards and operating procedures.
