Job summary

Beacon Mobility seeks a dedicated Charter Driver in Vermont to transport clients to and from pickup points safely and on time. You will operate school buses with provided directions, assess traffic conditions, monitor passenger behavior, and comply with state and federal laws.

Required are 21+ with 3+ years driving, a clean record, ability to pass background checks, and CDL B with S&P endorsements or willingness to obtain them.

• Valid driver's license held for 3+ consecutive years
• Satisfactory driving record
• Background, CORI & SORI checks acceptable
• CDL B with S&P endorsements or willing to obtain

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus to transport passengers to and from field trips and events safely and on time.
• Assess traffic and road conditions and monitor passenger behavior.
• Follow all state and federal traffic laws while operating the vehicle.
• Maintain CDL and state school bus certifications per guidelines.
• Assist passengers onto and off the vehicle as needed.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and safety checks as required by company standards.

A Charter Driver is responsible for transporting clients to and from their pickup point to their destination in a timely and safe manner. Operating a vehicle to safely transport people while providing excellent customer service are the most important tasks of the charter driver.

Requirements

• Age 21+ & have had a valid driver's license for 3+ consecutive years.
• Satisfactory Driving Record (no suspension etc.)
• Ability to pass a background check, CORI & SORI
• CDL B w/ S&P endorsements OR willing to obtain
• Willing to drive to a variety of locations
• Need to be flexible with last minute changes

What You'll Be Doing:

• Operate a school bus to transport authorized passengers to and from field trips, sporting events , and more in a safe and timely manner with provided directions .
• Assess traffic and road conditions, monitor passenger behavior and other factors as necessary.
• Follow all state and federal traffic laws while operating vehicle .
• Maintain proper CDL and state school bus certifications including adhering to state and federal guidelines regarding criminal, medical, drug test and driving records.
• Assist passengers onto and off the vehicle when necessary.
• Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections and safety checks as required by company standards and state guidelines.
