Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to support patient access operations in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role emphasizes accurate scheduling, adherence to guidelines, and effective communication with patients and clinical staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating departmental schedules, ensuring medical necessity checks, and contributing to process improvements while upholding patient satisfaction standards.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 1 Year Healthcare experience including customer relations required.
  • 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
  • 1 Year Medical terminology or certification preferred.
  • 6 Months Call center experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsabilités

  • Schedules testing and procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner to ensure productivity and patient flow.
  • Communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and staff to reduce appointment errors.
  • Stays abreast of and complies with regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains customer service and productivity guidelines set by leadership.
  • Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.

Position Highlights

  • Work hours: Full Time; 40 Hours; Day's 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

  • The Scheduling Specialist interacts in a professional, respectful manner with internal and external customers, provides excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
  • Team-oriented work environment with expanded resources from other Patient Access areas.
  • Cross-training opportunities within different areas of Patient Access
What You Will Do

Schedules testing and/or procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow. Performs Necessary checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable guidelines. Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors. Stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations, entity and/or system policies and procedures. Maintains customer service and/or productivity guidelines set forth by applicable leadership. Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.

Education

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req

Experience

1 Year Healthcare experience including customer relations Required 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience Preferred 1 Year Medical terminology or certification Preferred 6 Months Call center experience Preferred Bilingual Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire Pref

Skills

Proficient computer skills, medical terminology, Epic, Microsoft Office and assorted software programs. Scheduling and Insurance Verification that supports multiple facilities
