Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Scheduling Specialist PAS to join our Fort Worth team. This full-time role supports scheduling tests and procedures across departments, ensures medical necessity checks for Medicare patients, and coordinates with patients and staff to maintain efficient patient flow.

The position emphasizes compliance with regulations and internal policies, with opportunities for cross-training and professional growth within the Patient Access area.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Schedules testing and/or procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performs necessary checks of medical necessity for Medicare patients.
  • Communicates with patients, physician offices, surgery scheduling and staff to reduce errors.
  • Stays compliant with regulations, policies and productivity guidelines.
  • Participates in special projects or other duties as assigned.

Position Highlights


  • Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth 1301 Pennsylvania Ave TX 76104

  • Work hours: Full Time; 40 Hours; Day's 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

  • The Scheduling Specialist interacts in a professional, respectful manner with internal and external customers, provides excellent customer service to patients and visitors.

  • Team-oriented work environment with expanded resources from other Patient Access areas.

  • Cross-training opportunities within different areas of Patient Access


What You Will Do


  • Schedules testing and/or procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow.

  • Performs Necessary checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable guidelines.

  • Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors.

  • Stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations, entity and/or system policies and procedures. Maintains customer service and/or productivity guidelines set forth by applicable leadership.

  • Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.


Education

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req


Experience

1 Year Healthcare experience including customer relations Required



  • 2 Years Professional Office/healthcare Experience Preferred

  • 1 Year Medical terminology or certification Preferred


Bilingual Preferred

6 Months Call center experience Preferred


Licenses and Certifications

CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire Pref


Skills
