Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Scheduling Specialist at our Plano location to coordinate and schedule procedures across departments, ensuring efficient patient flow and accurate access to care.

Full-time, days, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm; 40 hours weekly. Requires healthcare experience and strong customer service, with preferred CHAA certification. Join a collaborative team focused on high-quality patient care and supportive growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • One year of healthcare experience including customer relations is required.
  • Two years of professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
  • One year of medical terminology or certification is preferred.
  • Six months call center experience preferred.
  • CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedules procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow.
  • Selects appropriate procedures and ICD diagnosis, referral, provider, visit type or case, insurance network coverage and location to expeditated patient access to care.
  • Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors.
  • Verifies medical necessity criteria to ensure documentation in compliance with applicable payor guidelines.
  • Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.

Work hours: Full-Time; Days; Monday- Friday, 8:30a-5p for 40 hrs/week

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
