Job summary

The Ohio State University Medical Center seeks a Scheduling Lead Coordinator to ensure access to physicians and services while coordinating and supporting integrated access services. This role includes accurate data collection to support billing and revenue cycles and acts as a knowledge expert for scheduling product lines.

Responsibilities include handling pre-registration in scheduling, communicating with physicians and staff, and generating reports to measure performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 4 years of relevant experience required.
• 6+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Associate degree in a relevant field may be preferred.
• Medical terminology, ICD-9 diagnosis coding and third party reimbursement experience a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in multiple databases for management and reporting.
• Familiarity with OSUMC and its entities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling across multiple product/service lines and departments.
• Assist in pre-registration and scheduling processes to support access and billing.
• Provide timely information to physicians, staff and patients regarding scheduling and services.
• Generate system reports to monitor referrals, access, wait times and appointment volumes.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, medical secretaries and other staff to resolve issues.
