Job summary

IFAB is seeking a dedicated Scheduling Coordinator to drive daily operational coordination at our Gastonia, NC manufacturing facility. You will own the short-term production schedule and align customer delivery with machine capacity, material availability, and labor readiness.

You will collaborate across Operations, Materials, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service, turning shop-floor data into actionable production plans and driving on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing scheduling or production control.
• Advanced MS Excel experience with PivotTables, Power Query, XLOOKUP and VBA beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build and publish daily and weekly production schedules across all departments and work centers.
• Sequence work orders based on due dates, material availability, labor, tooling, and setup times.
• Identify capacity bottlenecks and material shortages; develop recovery plans with leadership.
• Lead or participate in daily production review meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Create and maintain Excel dashboards and capacity models to improve schedule visibility.
• Monitor metrics like Schedule Attainment and On-Time Delivery to improve manufacturing flow.

About the Role

IFAB is seeking a dedicated Scheduling Coordinator to drive daily operational coordination across our manufacturing facility. In this critical role, you will bridge the gap between Operations, Materials, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service. You will own the short-term production schedule, ensuring customer delivery commitments align with machine capacity, material availability, and labor readiness. Key Responsibilities

• Production Scheduling & Execution: Build, maintain, and publish daily and weekly production schedules across all departments, shifts, and work centers. Maintain a rolling 1-to-4-week production outlook.
• Work Order Management: Sequence work orders based on customer due dates, material availability, labor, tooling, and setup times. Verify engineering drawings, routings, and material readiness before job release.
• Constraint & Bottleneck Resolution: Identify capacity overloads, material shortages, and workflow disruptions early. Develop recovery plans with Production Supervisors and escalat delivery risks with data-driven solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead or participate in daily production review meetings with Operations, Purchasing, Quality, Maintenance, and Shipping.
• Excel & Data Management: Build and maintain Excel-based dashboards, capacity models, and exception reports. Utilize advanced functions (PivotTables, Power Query, XLOOKUP) and VBA macros to automate reporting and improve schedule visibility.
• Continuous Improvement: Track key metrics such as Schedule Attainment, On-Time Delivery (OTD), and Material-Ready Rate to optimize manufacturing flow and schedule stability.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Haves (Required):

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing scheduling, production control, materials planning, or production coordination.
• Industry Background: Experience in discrete manufacturing, custom metal fabrication, assembly, job-shop, or make-to-order (MTO) environments.
• Advanced MS Excel: Demonstrated proficiency with PivotTables, Power Query, XLOOKUP/lookup formulas, conditional formatting, and multi-sheet data modeling.
• Technical Aptitude: Working knowledge of routings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), WIP, lead times, work centers, and shop-floor manufacturing flow.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred):

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Technology, or Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Excel VBA (building/editing macros for report automation).
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Sage, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and Shop Floor Execution/MES systems.
• APICS / ASCM (CPIM/CSCP) certification or Lean Manufacturing background.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Schedule: Day shift / Monday through Friday.
• Work Location: On-site at manufacturing plant.
