Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a day shift Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical and non-surgical procedures and pre-surgical testing. The role interacts with patients and care teams to ensure on-site consents and tests are completed accurately.

You will maintain EMR documentation, schedule all specialties, and liaise with referrals and family members in a compassionate, patient-centered manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Understanding and use of EMR/EHR systems.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and attention to detail.

• The Scheduler arranges appointments for surgical and non-surgical procedures along with pre-surgical testing for various specialties.
• Schedules surgeries and procedures for all specialties.
• Coordinates all required testing and procedures.
• Ensures all required pre-testing, patient information, and consents have been obtained and are on-site prior to the patient's admission to the hospital.
• Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients' family members in a compassionate and kind manner.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
