Job summary

Trinity Health's Mercy LIFE Valley View in Elwyn, PA seeks a part-time Scheduler to manage appointments and interpreter services. You will coordinate with participants and caregivers, reminding them of next-day visits and collaborating with transportation and staff to keep the schedule accurate.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of scheduling and customer service experience, proficiency with MS Office, and are willing to learn ASL with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year scheduling experience.
• Experience with patient/medical scheduling strongly desired.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of email and calendar systems.
• Willing to learn ASL; training provided.
• Ability to engage in light physical tasks and lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules external appointments for all participants.
• Coordinates Interpreter services.
• Contacts participant/caregivers to remind them of next-day appointments.
• Works with transportation department, participants, caregivers, and staff regarding schedules.
• Maintains complete participant schedules including plan of care details.
• Notifies manager when changes require physician orders.
• Records scheduling changes daily.

Scheduler

Shift: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8 am to 4:30 pm OR 8:30 am to 5pm, no nights/weekends

Status: Part Time 24 hours a Week

Location: Mercy Valley View, Elwyn, PA

We are looking for a customer focused and detail-oriented Scheduler to join our Mercy LIFE Valley View team.

Mercy LIFE Valley View is a member of Trinity Health PACE. Our facility ministers exclusively to the elderly through a coordinated care model which provides preventive, primary, acute and long-term care services designed to assist older individuals to live as independently as possible while continuing to live within their community.

Mercy Life Valley View also provides both housing and the Mercy LIFE program for senior adults. This program provides services to a community specifically comprised of deaf seniors.

All candidates must be willing to learn American Sign Language (ASL). Interpreters and/or communication assistance will be provided while training.

What you will do:

• Coordinates and schedules external appointments for all participants
• Coordinates Interpreter services
• Contacts participant/caregivers to remind them of the next day appointments.
• Works closely and communicates with the transportation department, participants, caregivers, and center staff regarding participant schedule.
• Maintains complete and accurate participant schedules, including the amount, frequency, and duration of service that has been identified in the plan of care.
• Notifies appropriate manager when requests for scheduling changes are received that require a physician's order.
• Records all scheduling changes, updates, and deletions on the schedule daily

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year scheduling experience required. Experience with patient/medical scheduling strongly desired.
• One (1) year of customer service experience serving as the first point of contact via email/phone/in person strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic
• Knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system.
• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
• Superior written/verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem solving and customer service skills as well as ability to adapt to change and attention to detail.
• Must be willing to learn ASL (American Sign Language). Proficiency with ASL (American Sign Language) preferred.
• Position requires ability to engage in frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, sitting, walking, bending and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, move and or lift a minimum of 20 pounds if applicable.
