Job summary

Community Health Network is seeking a Scheduler for full-time day shift at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role focuses on coordinating all aspects of scheduled surgeries and ensuring patients are prepared for procedures.

TheScheduler will guide patients through pre-op steps, coordinate with physicians on scheduling preferences, and manage pre-op testing and consent processes to support efficient operating room utilization.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with peers in team situations.
• Strong computer and telephone skills.
• Organized and very detail oriented.
• Complete FMLA paperwork.
• Work with physicians on preferences for surgeries and pre-op testing.
• Assist with arranging meetings for physicians.
• Arrange the physician's schedule around their surgeries

The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all surgeries. Arranges pre‑op testing for patients, obtains consent forms, and receives the necessary authorization prior to surgery. Walk each patient through instructions about what must be done prior to surgery, what time to arrive, and advise to arrange transportation home.
