Job summary

El Camino Health Medical Network in Santa Clara County is seeking a qualified Scheduler to join our growing healthcare team in Los Gatos, CA. This full-time position offers a pay rate of $28.68 - $30.13 per hour and regular Monday-Friday hours.

The Scheduler will create and schedule patient appointments, facilitate communications across the practice, and coordinate pre-op testing as directed by physicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year experience in a medical office or outpatient/ambulatory care organization.
• At least 1 year experience with medical terminology.
• Word processing and computer experience.
• Experience working with an EMR.
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 WPM.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Patient relations and professional demeanor.
• Basic math skills.
• Teamwork and prioritization abilities.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information to patients.
• Greets and registers patients promptly and pleasantly.
• Oversees waiting area and coordinates patient movement.
• Instructs patients regarding appointments, procedures and testing; coordinates pre-op testing.
• Schedules appointments, procedures, or surgeries and verifies schedules.
• Verifies information in EMR and insurance details; obtains necessary authorizations.
• Ensures consent forms and allergy lists are on file.
• Reviews instructions with patients and collects fees as needed.

Pay: $28.68 - $30.13/hr.

Location: Los Gatos, CA

Shift: M-F, 8:00am-5:00pm

El Camino Health Medical Network is recruiting Full-time Scheduler for our El Camino Health Multi-Specialty Care outpatient practices located in Los Gatos, CA.

The Scheduler creates and schedules patient appointments in an efficient and timely manner. They facilitate communications throughout the medical practice.

Job Summary

• Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and provides information to patients.
• Greets and registers patients in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner.
• Oversees waiting area, coordinates patient movement, reports problems or irregularities.
• Instructs and answers questions of patients regarding appointments, scheduled procedures and testing. Coordinates pre-op testing as directed by physician.
• Schedules patients' appointments, procedures, or surgeries
• Adjusts and/or verifies physician and office schedules daily.
• Verifies necessary information in the EMR, various insurance plans, and obtains authorizations for scheduled procedures as needed.
• Ensures all necessary paperwork such as consent forms and allergy lists are completed and on file.
• Reviews all instructions with the patient and collects fees such as co-pays.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• One (1) year experience in a medical office or outpatient/ambulatory care organization
• At least one (1) year experience of medical terminology required
• Word processing and computer experience
• Experience working with an EMR
• Ability to accurately type a minimum of 40 WPM
• Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills
• Solid patient/guest relations skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, courteous and efficient manner
• Ability to perform basic math
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize task to complete assignments within the time allotted to maintain standard workflow
• Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
