Job summary

Basalite Building Products, LLC is seeking a hands-on splitter/cutter/grinder/blaster/tumbler operator at our Carson City, NV facility. Under supervision, you will support and operate multiple production processes, ensuring safety and quality in every batch.

You will adjust equipment, feed materials, inspect blocks, and help maintain a clean, organized work area. This full-time role offers competitive pay ($18.00-$20.00/hour DOE) and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
• Ability to operate splitter, cuber and any other equipment required to perform duties.
• Production line experience preferred.
• Requires basic reading and writing skills.
• Basic mathematics and counting is required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional manner in dealing with employees and the public.
• Operation of mobile electronic equipment may be required.
• Forklift operation is required (Basalite Forklift Certification must be obtained).
• Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Stacking materials by hand as required.
• Checks blocks for proper quality (splits, cuts, grinding, blasting and tumbling).
• Regularly meets with supervisor.
• Maintains work area clean and clutter free per company standards.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable, and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the SCG Supervisor, this position supports the Splitter/Cutter/Grinder/Blaster/Tumbler in all areas of manufacturing; is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SALARY RANGE - $18.00-$20.00 /HR DOE

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
• Occasionally climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling may be required.
• Occasionally required to bend at the waist.
• Lifting up-to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Plant environment with moderate to loud noise, moving and vibrating machinery, dusty, dirty, fumes and/or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hot and cold (non-weather) conditions.
