Job summary

Basalite Building Products, LLC is seeking a production support role to assist with Work-In-Place of block products, including splitting, cutting, grinding, tumbling, and yard duties. You will work under the Plant Supervisor and department Superintendent to maintain quality and efficiency.

Expect to operate a forklift, perform quality checks, adjust equipment as needed, and complete daily paperwork. Excellent benefits, 401(k), profit sharing, and training are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate forklift and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math for production paperwork.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Regular attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support Work-In-Place of block production including splitting, cutting, grinding and tumbling.
• Assist in yard operations and move material with a forklift.
• Perform quality checks on blocks for splits and cuts.
• Make adjustments to equipment to ensure product quality.
• Complete daily production paperwork and maintain a clean work area.
• Attend safety meetings and comply with safety policies.

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE: Under the direct supervision of the Plant Supervisor and the department Superintendent, this position supports the Work-In-Place of block production, which includes splitting, cutting, grinding, tumbling and in all areas of the yard; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:General

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Efficient and safe equipment operation to include operation of splitter/grinder/saw/tumbler
• Checks blocks for proper quality (splits, cuts, and tumbling)
• Make critical equipment adjustments to ensure finished product quality
• Operate a forklift to move material to and from applicable secondary operations
• Complete required production paperwork for daily activities
• Operations may require: Loading block into process equipment by hand; Stacking finished product on pallets by hand.
• Properly execute daily equipment preventative maintenance tasks
• Maintain work area and equipment to be clean and clutter free per company standards
• Regularly meet with supervisor
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives
• Attends safety meetings and abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• On-the-job training is required to be able to perform duties and properly operate equipment
• Forklift operation is required (Basalite Forklift Certification must be obtained as on the job training).
• Ability to interface with automated machine operator screens
• Requires basic reading and writing skills
• Requires basic mathematics and counting skills
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
