Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a Scenic Carpenter Overhire to support the Set Building Team in constructing and installing photo studio scenery across multiple brand spaces. This casual, hourly role requires overtime, evenings, and occasional weekends to meet production needs.

Responsibilities include reading plans, fabricating set pieces, painting prep, and maintaining a safe work environment. Candidates should have 2+ years carpentry experience and strong problem-solving and communication

Qualifications

2+ years experience in carpentry or related fabrication.
Knowledge of standard stationary woodworking machinery and handheld tools.
Experience with set building materials and safety procedures.
Ability to problem solve and manage time on projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret build plans and follow cut lists to construct scenery as directed.
Fabricate set pieces such as flats, windows, doors, and trim work using woodworking tools.
Prepare scenery for paint treatments and basic scenic painting.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment across studios and shops.
Strike and install photo sets in a safe, efficient manner to meet production deadlines.
Uphold all shop safety requirements and procedures.
Collaborate with Set Building team, studios, and operations to troubleshoot issues.
Other duties as assigned.
