Strengthening Community Colleges Consortium Grant (SCC3) Curriculum Coordinator
Serves as the SCC3 Curriculum Coordinator for Northeastern Technical College (NETC), Denmark Technical College (DTC), and Williamsburg Technical College (WTC). Collaborates with faculty, staff, administration, and external stakeholders to align workforce development curriculum with industry certification standards. Coordinates with students to schedule and facilitate industry-recognized certification examinations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Acts as a liaison and resource for faculty, staff, administration, and external stakeholders at NETC, DTC, and WTC regarding curriculum requirements. Coordinates needs assessments, including surveys, to identify workforce training priorities. Collaborates with institutional teams to advise on and customize curriculum to meet the needs of end-users. Ensures curriculum development aligns with instructional objectives, supports each college’s strategic mission, and adheres to policies of the South Carolina Technical College System, SACSCOC, and relevant industry standards.
- Designs curriculum to align with stackable credentials, program goals, student pathways, transferability, industry certifications, and CTE standards. Supports faculty and staff in developing learning outcomes that reflect course and departmental objectives. Assists in designing degrees, diplomas, certificates, and courses to ensure alignment with credential frameworks and integration of Open Educational Resources (OER). Reviews curriculum proposals and provides feedback to faculty, deans, and the Curriculum Committee.
- Supports curriculum development at NETC, DTC, and WTC by leveraging the NETC stackable credential model. Contributes to new program initiatives, multimodal delivery, and program alignment to enhance student success. Conducts research for new programs, including feasibility, impact assessments, sector strategies, and labor market analysis. Collaborates with internal and external experts using state and national data sources for strategic decisions.
- Serves as a member of the NETC Center for Teaching and Innovation, promoting high-quality, industry-relevant instruction among faculty and educators at NETC, DTC, and WTC. Encourages best practices and emerging technologies to improve teaching and student outcomes. Plans and implements professional development activities. Participates in task forces and educational planning events to keep academic programs responsive to workforce needs.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- A master's degree in education or a related field.
- Experience in curriculum development.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Requirements:
- A master's degree in education or a related field.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of curriculum development principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of educational trends, theories, and research methods.
- Skilled in developing instructional aids and planning programs.
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Competent in integrating technology into curricula and developing guidelines for curriculum development.
Additional Details:
- Employee housed in the NETC Center for Teaching and Innovation.
- Travel within the state to DTC and WTC may be required.
