Strengthening Community Colleges Consortium Grant (SCC3) Curriculum Coordinator
Serves as the SCC3 Curriculum Coordinator for Northeastern Technical College (NETC), Denmark Technical College (DTC), and Williamsburg Technical College (WTC). Collaborates with faculty, staff, administration, and external stakeholders to ensure workforce development curriculum aligns with industry certification standards. Coordinates with students to schedule and facilitate industry-recognized certification examinations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Curriculum Liaison and Needs Assessment: Acts as a resource for faculty, staff, and stakeholders across the colleges regarding curriculum requirements. Coordinates needs assessments, including surveys, to identify workforce training priorities. Advises on and customizes curriculum to meet end-user needs, ensuring alignment with institutional missions, policies of the South Carolina Technical College System, SACSCOC standards, and industry requirements.
- Curriculum Design and Development: Designs curriculum aligned with stackable credentials, program goals, student pathways, transferability, and certifications. Supports faculty in developing learning outcomes and assists in designing degrees, diplomas, certificates, and courses that incorporate quality Open Educational Resources (OER). Reviews proposals and provides feedback to faculty and committees.
- Program Support and Research: Supports curriculum development leveraging the NETC stackable credential model. Contributes to new program initiatives, delivery methods, and student success strategies. Conducts research for new programs, including feasibility studies and labor market analysis, utilizing state and national data sources.
- Instructional Innovation and Professional Development: Participates in the NETC Center for Teaching and Innovation to promote high-quality, industry-relevant instruction. Encourages adoption of best practices and new technologies. Plans and implements professional development activities and participates in educational planning events to keep programs responsive to workforce needs.
- Additional Duties: Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in education or related field and experience in curriculum development. Must have a valid driver's license. NETC prefers candidates with similar qualifications.
Knowledge and Skills: Principles of curriculum development, educational trends, research methods, and evaluation techniques. Skilled in instructional aids development, program planning, effective communication, technology integration, and guideline development.
Work Environment: Based in the NETC Center for Teaching and Innovation. Collaborates closely with SCC3 staff at all three colleges. In-state and local travel required, including travel to DTC and WTC.
