Job summary

MES Life Safety is seeking a full-time Service Technician (Air Products - SCBA) to inspect, maintain, repair, and test SCBA equipment used by firefighters across the Northeast. The role involves periodic service calls at fire departments and preventative maintenance on 3M/Scott Safety SCBA systems.

Travel about 25–30% is expected within the territory of New England and nearby states. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, hands-on SCBA maintenance experience, and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience servicing SCBA equipment highly desirable.
• Technical training or certification related to SCBA maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and Scott/3M guidelines.
• Sound computer skills essential.
• Willingness to travel extensively; some overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Inspect SCBA and related equipment for readiness and safety compliance.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on SCBA units and components.
• Conduct tests (pressure, airflow, leak) to verify specifications.
• Maintain detailed service records and testing results.
• Calibrate SCBA equipment for accurate readings.
• Train end-users on proper use and care of SCBA equipment.
• Manage inventory of spare parts for repairs and maintenance.
• Stay current with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Interact with customers to address equipment concerns.
