Job summary

SCBA Tech in Mansfield, TX is seeking a Full Time technician responsible for installation, maintenance, inspection, repair and operation of SCBA and breathing air cascade systems. You will ensure safety and readiness for personnel in emergency situations and hazardous environments.

Responsibilities include inspections, routine maintenance, diagnosis and repair, training personnel, and strict compliance with NFPA/OSHA standards.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma; technical certification in respiratory protection systems preferred.
Experience with SCBA and breathing air compressor maintenance.
Knowledge of NFPA/OSHA safety regulations and standards.
Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Able to work independently and in high-pressure environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

Inspect SCBA units and breathing air cascade systems for safety and readiness.
Perform routine maintenance, testing, and part replacements.
Diagnose and repair faults; keep accurate repair and inspection records.
Assist in setup and operation of cascade systems for training and emergencies.
Educate personnel on proper SCBA use and care; train firefighters.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety standards.
Install new cascade systems and ensure proper storage and handling of cylinders.
